Sam Langdon

Founder & Lead Instructor

I’m Sam Langdon, a rising junior at New Trier High School where I’m currently doubling up on math classes, taking both AP Calculus and AP Statistics. I love to play water polo, spend time with friends and family, volunteer, and participate in school clubs such as DECA and IntelligeNT Investors Club. I have experience tutoring at Mathnasium. I’ve greatly enjoyed the past year running the WMC and I’m excited to continue this year!

Sunny Yu

Head of Marketing

My name is Sunny Yu and I am a current junior at New Trier High School. Ever since an early age, I have been studying enriched math. Now, I am taking AP Calculus BC. This year, I am tutoring other high school students in math in our school’s academic assistance center. Additionally, I often help my friends with their math homework and go over their tests with them. In my free time, I play the violin, read books, and practice tennis with my teammates. I enjoy helping others with something I excel at and I hope to help kids love learning more about math.

James Langdon

Head of Tutoring Services

I’m a sophomore at New Trier High School and will be taking Algebra 2 and Trigonometry this upcoming year. I have experience working with youth such as volunteering at the Wilmette Public Library, coaching youth soccer lessons, and babysitting. In my free time, I enjoy playing soccer, participating in school clubs, and spending time with friends and family. I’m looking forward to my second year of helping kids excel at the math circle.

Daniel Rachelson

Instructor

I am a junior at New Trier High School. I have been studying advanced math from an early age and I am currently taking AP Calculus, AP Statistics, and AP Computer Science. I've tutored sixth and seventh graders at the Russian School of Math where I was also enrolled as a student for many years. In my free time, I enjoy swimming and playing water polo. My favorite subject in school is math and I am looking forward to helping kids excel in math.

Charlotte Wenzke

Instructor

Hi! I'm Charlotte Wenzke and I'm a junior at New Trier High School. I love to do math, and I've participated in many competitions including the Stanford Math Tournament. In my free time I love to run, sing, dance, babysit and hangout with friends and family. I love helping kids and giving back to the community of Wilmette!

Ben Plawsky

Instructor

I’m a sophomore at New Trier High School with a strong passion for math. This year, I’ll be taking Pre-Calculus. Outside of the classroom, I’m involved in the New Trier Sports Analytics Club and the Entrepreneurship Club, and I also play on the baseball team. I’ve previously tutored 7th-grade students in math and given baseball lessons. I’m excited for my second year of sharing my enthusiasm for math with younger students and helping them grow their skills and confidence.

Bella Zou

Instructor

My name is Bella Zou and I will be a sophomore at New Trier High School. I will be taking High Honors Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. At New Trier I am involved in clubs like Girls Club and Kinesis. Outside of school, I love dancing, reading and spending time with my friends and family. I’ve had the opportunity to work with youth as a summer volunteer at the Wilmette Public Library, babysitting and as an assistant dance teacher. I’m excited to support younger students and help them feel more confident in math.

Luke Sumption

I’m Luke Sumption, a sophomore at New Trier High School. I am currently taking Algebra 2 & Trigonometry. I love spending time with friends and family, being outside, and volunteering. I play two sports, Hockey and Lacrosse. My experiences volunteering with the young kids are mentoring young Hockey players at my club, and being a volunteer for the Wilmette Summer Reading Club. I am so excited to be a part of the Wilmette Math Circle and helping the next generation of mathematicians.

Jessal Lele

My name is Jessal Lele and I’m a sophomore at New Trier High School. This year I am taking Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and spending time with friends and family. At school, I’m a member of the New Trier Sports Analytics Club and the Triship service club. I’m excited to help young kids learn at the Wilmette Math Circle.
